Founder
Pete Smith founded Chapman Smith Corporation after a distinguished career in industrial sales, purchasing, steel, and manufacturing. His deep understanding of raw materials, production applications, supplier relationships, and cost reduction established the customer-focused model that continues to guide the company today. Throughout his career, Pete has helped manufacturers improve material selection, optimize purchasing strategies, and identify meaningful cost savings. He founded Chapman Smith to give OEM customers a knowledgeable, resourceful partner capable of reducing costs while improving quality and supply reliability. Pete earned degrees in Marketing and Finance from Miami University.
Chief Financial Officer
Scott Smith serves as Chief Financial Officer of Chapman Smith Corporation, providing financial oversight and supporting the company's long-term strategy. He joined the company in 2014 after a leading the financial operations, strategy and growth of several technology companies. Scott brings more than three decades of entrepreneurial and operational leadership experience. A graduate of Miami University, Scott brings Chapman Smith a disciplined perspective on financial management, technology, operations and sustainable growth.
Director of Business Development
Craig Erickson brings decades of experience in manufacturing, materials management, purchasing, supplier development, logistics, operational excellence, and business development. Before joining Chapman Smith in 2007, he held senior leadership positions supporting complex domestic and international manufacturing operations. Craig has extensive experience identifying cost savings, negotiating with suppliers, improving inventory and production systems, and developing fundamental product and sourcing improvements. Craig earned a bachelor's degree in Industrial Management from Purdue University.
Business Development Manager
Jack Cannon focuses on building new customer relationships, identifying strategic growth opportunities and helping manufacturers improve the way they source materials and production components. Prior to joining Chapman Smith in 2026, Jack worked in Corporate & Investment Banking, where he analyzed companies and underwrote corporate loans supporting acquisitions and refinancings for several Fortune 500 companies. That experience gave him a disciplined approach to evaluating financial performance, business opportunities and risk. At Chapman Smith, Jack combines his financial background with a hands-on approach to business development, helping customers uncover cost savings, strengthen their sourcing strategies, and build more efficient, reliable supply chains. He earned his bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Dayton.
Senior Account Executive
Stefan Donat serves as Senior Account Executive at Chapman Smith Corporation, working with OEM and industrial customers to identify cost-reduction opportunities and strengthen their sourcing strategies. He joined Chapman Smith in 2024 after serving as a Sales Account Manager with Ramco Engineering, bringing valuable experience in industrial sales and customer relationship management. A graduate of Indiana State University, Stefan takes a practical, relationship-driven approach to understanding each customer's operation. He focuses on building long-term partnerships and connecting customers with solutions that improve cost, reliability and supply-chain performance.
Senior Administrative Coordinator
Lora Kipker brings more than two decades of administrative and customer-service experience to Chapman Smith. She supports many essential areas of the business, including order processing, invoicing, accounts receivable and payable, customer communication, and shipment coordination. Her versatility, responsiveness, and attention to detail help keep customer orders and internal operations moving efficiently. Lora earned a bachelor's degree from Manchester College.
Accounting & Operations Coordinator
Maelynn Fries brings extensive administrative and manufacturing experience to Chapman Smith. She supports purchase-order processing, packing lists, invoicing, accounts payable, and other day-to-day accounting and operational responsibilities. Her organization and attention to detail help ensure that orders, documentation, and financial processes are handled accurately and efficiently. Maelynn earned a degree in Business Management from Indiana Tech.
